My name is Jim Lehrman. I am the ESL teacher at Brooks Museums Magnet Elementary School. I have taught for 22 years in Wake County schools. Before that, I taught in Michigan, New York, and Washington, DC. I got my start teaching English as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Cameroon, West Africa. That was way back in 1989!
In my class students will be working on a variety of tasks that will help them prepare for academic responsibilities in their classroom. I believe the best way to prepare students for success is by providing fun and meaningful opportunities with high expectations.
